Questions
Is the PECB exam included in the course price?
Yes. PECB's exam rules state that the training fee includes the first exam attempt, one free retake, the certification application fee, and the first year of the Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF). For self-study and eLearning, PECB's rules set a window of 12 months from the purchase date to complete this cycle.
How do I take the PECB exam?
Online, from home. Candidates can also take a PECB exam remotely from the convenience of their own home through the PECB Exam application. The exam session is supervised remotely by a PECB Invigilator via the PECB Exams application and an external/integrated camera.
What happens if I do not pass?
The candidate will be provided with only two possible examination results: pass or fail, rather than an exact grade. In case of a failure, the results will be accompanied by the list of domains where the candidate failed to fully answer the question. One free retake is included in the training fee.
Do I need professional experience to be certified?
It depends on the designation. Specific educational and professional requirements will need to be fulfilled in order to be PECB certified. A Lead exam passed without the experience earns a Provisional designation; the Lead designation is awarded against five years of documented experience, two of them in the specialized field, and 300 hours of project activity (audit activity for Lead Auditor).
How long is a PECB certification valid?
PECB certifications are valid for three years. To maintain a certificate, PECB Certified Professionals are required to demonstrate that they are performing certification-related activities. In addition to this, PECB Professionals are required to pay an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) and submit Continuing Professional Development (CPDs). The following credentials do not require maintenance: Foundation, Provisional, and Transition.
Who issues the certificate — Valment or PECB?
PECB. Valment Partners Inc. sells the seat as a PECB Authorized Partner; the course, the PECB exam and the certificate are PECB's. Once PECB approves the application, you download the certificate from your PECB member account.
Do I need a PECB account?
