Who is responsible

Valment Partners Inc. is the controller for this store. [Legal: address and contact; whether an EU representative under Article 27 is required.]

Where this store is offered

This store is offered only to buyers in Canada, the United States and Switzerland and is not directed at persons in the European Union or the United Kingdom. Personal information is handled as described in this notice under the laws applicable to Valment in Canada — including Quebec's private-sector privacy law for Quebec customers — and, for customers in Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.

What we collect and why

To take payment and deliver your order: your email, name, billing address and country, your organization and purchase-order reference if you give them, and the record of your order. Basis: performance of a contract. To enrol the learner: the email of their existing account with the certification body, and optionally their name. Basis: performance of the contract, entered by you on the learner's behalf; you are responsible for telling them, and our first email to them carries this notice. To let you return to your orders: a link in your confirmation email, re-sent on request to the email you paid with. Basis: the contract. There is no account and no password. Nothing else is collected. There are no analytics and no third-party scripts on this site.

Who receives it

Stripe processes the payment and holds your card details; Valment never sees them. The certification body receives each learner's name, email and country to create the learner's account and deliver the course and examination; from then on it is an independent controller for the learner record. This store is hosted with Cloudflare, with EU placement requested for its database; Cloudflare and our email provider process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements. [Legal: name each party, its location and the transfer footing: Canada's adequacy decision; Stripe's EU entity; the hosting and email providers' DPA and DPF certification.]

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records for the tax retention period that applies to Valment, seven years from payment. The learner's account email and name until enrolment is confirmed plus ninety days, then deleted; the certification body keeps the learner record thereafter. The buyer record that an order references stays with the order for the tax period; a buyer record with no order is deleted after thirty days. A checkout that is not completed is deleted within a week. Order links for sixty days. A team request and its contact details for two years.

Your rights

Access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. From your order page you can download everything we hold about that order as a file. Erasure requests are answered within a month; invoice fields must be kept for the tax period and are not erased until it ends. [Legal: the mailbox; the supervisory authority; the PIPEDA route via the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.]
